Homemade Nutella Hot Cocoa

I cringe at the thought of tearing open a packet of Swiss Mix and opening the microwave door. Yeeuck!  Luckily I don’t own a microwave and luckily you don’t need one to make this wintry drink. Three simple ingredients and a little love create the world’s best cold-weather hot cup.

Nutella Hot Cocoa

20 oz 2 % milk (or whole milk if you really want your cocoa to be super creamy)

2 tsp unsweetened cocoa powder

2 heaping tsp Nutella*

In a small pot on medium heat, quickly whisk together all ingredients until hot, but not boiling. When hot, pour and serve. For homemade whipped cream, use a mixer to whip heavy cream until thick. Add to cocoa. Serves 2.

*If you want a basic hot cocoa omit the Nutella and replace with 2 teaspoons of sugar or honey.
